On the National holiday, 18 November, Riga public transport will be free
“Rīgas satiksme” informs that on 18 November, public transport will run according to the holiday schedule. During the National holiday, residents and visitors will be able to use public transport for free. Parking lots on the sides of the streets managed by “Rīgas satiksme” will also be available for free.
Public transport
On the National holiday, 18 November, all passengers can travel for free and without tickets, and without registering code tickets on “Rīgas satiksme” buses, trolleybuses, and trams.
On Friday, 18 November, public transport will run according to the holiday schedule. During certain periods of time when the events take place, temporary delays in the movement of public transport are possible.
- At 7:30 a parade of Latvian Student Corporations will take place from the University of Latvia to the Brothers' Cemetery along the route Raiņa bulvāris, Brīvības bulvāris, Brīvības iela, Cēsu iela, Mēness iela, Miera iela, Klusā iela, Gaujas iela, Aizsaules iela, Brothers' Cemetery.
- At 13:30 a military parade of the units of the National Armed Forces will take place on the 11. novembra krastmala. Infantry parade: 11. novembra krastmala, Strēlnieku laukums, Kaļķu iela, Brīvības bulvāris, Brīvības iela, Bruņinieku iela, Sporta iela, Skanstes iela. Military parade: 11. novembra krastmala, Ģenerāļa Radziņa krastmala to Turgeņeva iela. Traffic will be regulated and closed by the State Police during the parades.
- At 18:00 a torchlight parade will take place along the route from K. Ulmanis monument on Raiņa bulvāris along Raiņa bulvāris, K. Barona iela, Aspazijas bulvāris, Z. A. Meierovica bulvāris, K. Valdemāra iela, Raiņa bulvāris. Approximate time of the parade is 1 hour. Traffic will be regulated and closed by the State Police during the parade.
Parking lots
On Friday, 18 November, Riga City Council’s paid parking lots, managed by “Rīgas satiksme”, will be free to use, except for the underground parking lot on Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 5a near the Congress Centre – parking there is charged according to the current tariffs.
Customer service centres
On 17 November, the day before the holiday, the working hours of the customer service centre at Brīvības iela 49/53 will be from 8:00 to 17:00, and the working hours of the customer centre at Riga Support Centre for Ukrainians will be from 9:00 to 16:00. Other “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres will work as usual on working days – from 9:00 to 19:00
On Friday, 18 November, all customer service centres will be closed.
